Pulmonary Disease

Evaluation of respiratory symptoms; chronic cough, shortness of breath of unknown etiology, and wheezing, sputum production (bloody or purulent sputum). Management of pulmonary diseases; asthma, tobacco related lung disease (COPD - emphysema, chronic bronchitis), pleural diseases, environmental and Inhalational ailments, lung cancer, blood clots to the lung, pulmonary hypertension, sarcoidosis, non-resolving pneumonia etc.

Assessment and interpretation of abnormal Chest X rays, CT scans of chest, PET/CT Scans and Pulmonary Function Tests.

Sleep Disorders

Evaluation and management of sleep disorders; Sleep apnea (snoring and choking during sleep), Insomnia (inability to fall asleep or stay asleep), Restless leg syndrome, parasomnias (sleep walking, RBD – REM behavior disorders) and Narcolepsy.

Sleep laboratory testing

• Polysomnography (Sleep Study)
• CPAP titration,
• MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Testing),
• MWT (Maintenance of Wakefulness Test)

Allergy Services

Allergy Skin Testing (AST). Serum RAST panel (Environmental and animals), guiding patients to treatment with biologics such as anti-IgE therapy - Xolair (Omalizumab) Nucala (mepolizumab)for selected patients with moderate to severe asthma.

Diagnostic Testing

• Point of care testing: Complete Pulmonary Function Test, spot oxygen checks
• Evaluation for oxygen therapy: 6 min walk test and overnight oximetry
• Allergy Skin Testing (AST)
• In-patient bronchoscopy with lung biopsy, fine needle aspiration (FNA) and washings
• Pleural fluid evaluation and management

Patient Education

• Smoking cessation program
• Asthma education, MDI Teaching etc
